Sukta 3.18
तपो ष्वग्ने अन्तराँ अमित्रान्तपा शंसमररुषः परस्य । तपो वसो चिकितानो अचित्तान्वि ते तिष्ठन्तामजरा अयासः ॥
tápo ṣv agne ántarāṃ amítrān tápā śáṃsam araruṣáḥ párasya | tápo vaso cikitānáḥ acíttān ví te tiṣṭhantām ajárā ayā́saḥ ||
हे अग्ने! अपने तप से भीतर के शत्रुओं को तपाकर जला; जो हम पर क्रुद्ध होकर गरजता है, उसके शत्रुतापूर्ण शंसन—दुष्प्रचार—को भी जला। हे वसु! दृष्टि में सचेत, जो अचेत और अस्पष्ट हैं, उनके विरुद्ध तेरी अजर, अयास—अथक—अग्नियाँ स्थिर होकर खड़ी रहें।
