Sukta 32

Mantra 1

प्र सोमासो मदच्युतः श्रवसे नो मघोनः । सुता विदथे अक्रमुः ॥

Forth go the Somās, streaming ecstasy, for our inspired hearing and fame, O bountiful ones; pressed out, they advance into the sacred assembly of the seeking.

Mantra 2

आदीं त्रितस्य योषणो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये ॥

Then the maidens of Trita impel the tawny Soma with the pressing-stones—the bright drop—for Indra to drink: the hidden delight is brought up for the conquering light.

Mantra 3

आदीं हंसो यथा गणं विश्वस्यावीवशन्मतिम् । अत्यो न गोभिरज्यते ॥

Then the Swan of the heights rouses the host, awakening the thought of all; he is anointed with the Rays of Light like a swift steed.

Mantra 4

उभे सोमावचाकशन्मृगो न तक्तो अर्षसि । सीदन्नृतस्य योनिमा ॥

O Soma, you make both worlds shine; like a well-driven wild creature you rush onward, and settling, you take your seat in the womb of Ṛta.

Mantra 5

अभि गावो अनूषत योषा जारमिव प्रियम् । अगन्नाजिं यथा हितम् ॥

The Rays press toward him with their glad cry, as a bride toward her beloved; they move to the goal, as to a destined and rightly placed prize.

Mantra 6

अस्मे धेहि द्युमद्यशो मघवद्भ्यश्च मह्यं च । सनिं मेधामुत श्रवः ॥

In us place luminous glory—on the givers and on me as well—grant also winning increase, the inspired intelligence, and the wide fame that carries the soul.
