Mantra 1

बळित्था देव निष्कृतमादित्या यजतं बृहत् । वरुण मित्रार्यमन्वर्षिष्ठं क्षत्रमाशाथे ॥

Indeed, O gods, you Ādityas have shaped a vast and worthy ordinance. O Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman—you attain the most abundant sovereignty, the supreme ruling power.

Mantra 2

आ यद्योनिं हिरण्ययं वरुण मित्र सदथः । धर्तारा चर्षणीनां यन्तं सुम्नं रिशादसा ॥

When you take your seat in the golden womb, O Varuṇa and Mitra—upholders of the peoples—then you bring the moving current of felicity, you who devour the harm.

Mantra 3

विश्वे हि विश्ववेदसो वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा । व्रता पदेव सश्चिरे पान्ति मर्त्यं रिषः ॥

For all these are indeed the All-knowing powers—Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman. They move in their laws as along a fixed track; they guard the mortal from harm, keeping him within the right path of the Truth.

Mantra 4

ते हि सत्या ऋतस्पृश ऋतावानो जनेजने । सुनीथासः सुदानवोंऽहोश्चिदुरुचक्रयः ॥

For they are the true ones, touching the Truth-Order; they are possessors of ṛta in every people. With good leading and generous giving, they widen the turning of our path even out of distress.

Mantra 5

को नु वां मित्रास्तुतो वरुणो वा तनूनाम् । तत्सु वामेषते मतिरत्रिभ्य एषते मतिः ॥

Who now can be left unpraised of you—Mitra, or Varuṇa—in the workings of our embodied being? Therefore toward you indeed the thought-impulse presses; from the Atris this aspiring mind presses toward you.
