Agni Vaiśvānara (with praise that also frames a bountiful lordly power; donor-context with Tri-aruṇa)
This short hymn praises Agni as Vaiśvānara—the universal Fire and lordly power who makes prosperity and right order visible in the world. It frames Agni’s greatness through a donor-context (Tri-aruṇa) and links the hymn’s efficacy to the sacrificial word (ṛc/vāc) and to the Aśvamedha setting, culminating in a joint invocation of Indra–Agni to uphold kṣatra (sovereign might).

Mantra 1
अनस्वन्ता सत्पतिर्मामहे मे गावा चेतिष्ठो असुरो मघोनः । त्रैवृष्णो अग्ने दशभिः सहस्रैर्वैश्वानर त्र्यरुणश्चिकेत ॥
May the lord of the true (being) be invoked for me, rich in the steeds of energy; may the most perceptive Asura, bountiful in his gifts, become manifest. O Agni Vaiśvānara, Tri-aruṇa is made aware (of thee) with ten thousands in the full force of thy triple rain of abundance.
Mantra 2
यो मे शता च विंशतिं च गोनां हरी च युक्ता सुधुरा ददाति । वैश्वानर सुष्टुतो वावृधानोऽग्ने यच्छ त्र्यरुणाय शर्म ॥
He who gives me a hundred and twenty rays of knowledge, and the two tawny powers yoked and well-bearing—O Vaiśvānara, well-praised and increasing, O Agni, grant to Tri-aruṇa a sheltering peace.
Mantra 3
एवा ते अग्ने सुमतिं चकानो नविष्ठाय नवमं त्रसदस्युः । यो मे गिरस्तुविजातस्य पूर्वीर्युक्तेनाभि त्र्यरुणो गृणाति ॥
Thus, O Agni, desiring thy good mind, Trāsadasyu offers the ninth (hymn) to the newest; he who with a yoked intent chants my ancient words for the mighty-born—Tri-aruṇa voices them forth.
Mantra 4
यो म इति प्रवोचत्यश्वमेधाय सूरये । दददृचा सनिं यते ददन्मेधामृतायते ॥
He who proclaims ‘thus’ for me to the heroic one for the horse-sacrifice; giving by the ṛc the gain to the striver, giving the inspired intelligence to the one who moves in the truth.
Mantra 5
यस्य मा परुषाः शतमुद्धर्षयन्त्युक्षणः । अश्वमेधस्य दानाः सोमा इव त्र्याशिरः ॥
He in whom the hundred strong powers uplift me—like vigorous bulls—his gifts, born of the Horse-sacrifice, rise and surge like Soma-pressings of triple force.
Mantra 6
इन्द्राग्नी शतदाव्न्यश्वमेधे सुवीर्यम् । क्षत्रं धारयतं बृहद्दिवि सूर्यमिवाजरम् ॥
O Indra-Agni, givers of a hundred boons, in the total offering of the life-force uphold heroic might; sustain the wide sovereign power, like the unaging Sun held aloft in the Vast of heaven.
