Sukta 8
तस्येदं वर्चस्तेजः प्राणमायुर्नि वेष्टयामीदमेनमधराञ्चं पादयामि
tásyedáṃ várcas téjaḥ prāṇám ā́yur ní veṣṭayāmī́dam enam adharā́ñcam pādayāmi
This—his lustre and fiery might, his breath and length of days—herewith I wrap about (and take to myself); and this man I cause to go downward, turned to the lower side.
Rishi: Atharvanic/Angiras-type attribution (specific r̥ṣi not determinable from the excerpt alone)
Devata: Impersonal coercive power of mantra; secondarily the seized ‘vácas/tejas/prāṇa/āyus’ as quasi-substances
Chandas: Mixed/irregular prose-like Atharvanic cadence (not securely determinable from the excerpt alone)
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"vira","emotional_arc":"Seizure (claiming ‘this—his…’) → enclosure (wrapping) → humiliation (downward forcing).","listener_experience":"Predatory dominance; sense of forceful control.","intensity":9}
