पुत्रि प्रदानकालस्ते न हि कश्चिद्वृणोति माम् । विचारयन्न पश्यामि वरं तुल्यमिहात्मनः
putri pradānakālaste na hi kaścidvṛṇoti mām | vicārayanna paśyāmi varaṃ tulyamihātmanaḥ
«Meine Tochter, die Zeit ist gekommen, dich zur Ehe zu geben; doch niemand sucht ein Bündnis mit mir. So sehr ich auch nachdenke, sehe ich hier keinen Bräutigam von gleichem Wert.»
