This verse preserves the rishi-paramparā—an authoritative chain of realized seers—through whom Shaiva knowledge and disciplines are transmitted, emphasizing that liberation (moksha) is approached through right teaching, right practice, and the blessings of the enlightened.
By naming the sages, the text implicitly points to the custodians of Shiva’s worship—those who systematize and transmit Linga-upāsanā, mantra, and yogic contemplation—showing that Saguna Shiva worship is upheld through scriptural lineage and lived realization.
The verse itself is primarily an enumeration, but the takeaway is to approach Shiva-sādhanā through a qualified guru and scriptural tradition—supporting practices like japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady yogic discipline under guidance.
