The verse functions as a sacred roll-call of revered seers and figures, indicating an authoritative lineage of those connected to Shiva’s teaching—emphasizing that Shaiva knowledge is preserved and transmitted through purified rishis.
By naming respected sages and associated figures, the text underscores that Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upasana) is upheld by an established tradition; devotion and right knowledge are validated through such guru–rishi lineages.
While no single rite is commanded in this line, the implied takeaway is to approach Shiva worship through traditional disciplines—japa of the Panchakshara, purity (śuci), and regulated sadhana under scriptural guidance.
