Narrator (Purāṇic narration) describing Śiva addressing Brahmā and Viṣṇu
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the teaching as sacred testimony: after respectful salutation and full reporting of events, Śiva addresses Brahmā and Viṣṇu, signaling that dharma and higher knowledge are transmitted through reverence, truthful narration, and divine counsel.
Bhakti is implied through the act of namaskāra (salutation) to Virūpākṣa and the respectful, orderly sharing of the account—devotion expresses itself as humility, proper conduct, and receptivity to divine instruction.
The verse functions as a narrative transition rather than a direct Vedāṅga rule; it highlights the traditional method of instruction—systematic recounting (vṛtta-sarvam) and authoritative speech—often used to introduce technical teachings in the Vedāṅga sections.
