The Description of the Index (Anukramaṇikā) of the Padma Purāṇa
सिद्धाख्यानं ततः प्रोक्तं खंडस्यास्य फलोहनम् । सूतशौनकसंवादं भूमिखंडमिदं स्मृतम् ॥ १३ ॥
siddhākhyānaṃ tataḥ proktaṃ khaṃḍasyāsya phalohanam | sūtaśaunakasaṃvādaṃ bhūmikhaṃḍamidaṃ smṛtam || 13 ||
随后宣说“悉达”(Siddha)之成就叙事,并阐明此段所结的福果。此部分被忆念为“地分章”(Bhūmi-khaṇḍa),由苏多(Sūta)与绍那迦(Śaunaka)的对话构成。
Suta
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It marks the text’s self-structure: the Purana identifies its own section (Bhūmi-khaṇḍa), its framing dialogue (Sūta–Śaunaka), and the promised spiritual “fruit” (phala) of engaging with it—emphasizing that śravaṇa and adhyayana are purposeful, merit-bearing acts.
Indirectly: by highlighting “phalohanam” (fruit-bestowing results) tied to hearing/receiving the sacred narrative, it supports the bhakti principle that attentive listening to Purāṇic kathā and samvāda is itself a devotional practice that yields spiritual benefit.
No specific Vedāṅga is taught in this verse; instead, it provides an anukramaṇikā-style cue—how the Purāṇa is organized through dialogue and sectioning—useful for traditional study-method (pāṭha-krama) and citation.
