eṣa me pratyayo vipra bhaviṣyati tavā'dhunā | bhūyaḥ snānaṃ vidhāya tvaṃ tato mūrtiṃ mamārcaya
Sūrya (Divākara/Sahasrāṃśu)
Type: ghat
Listener: Śaṃkha (brāhmaṇa devotee)
Scene: Sūrya, radiant and authoritative, instructs the brāhmaṇa to bathe again and then worship the deity’s image; the devotee stands with folded hands near the water and a small shrine.
Purity through snāna and sincere devotion qualifies one for divine grace and effective worship.
The passage belongs to the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya context, connected with Śaṃkhatīrtha/Śaṃkhāditya.
Repeat the ritual bath and then perform arcana (formal worship) of the deity’s mūrti (image/form).
