विषयेष्वति संरागो मानसो मल उच्यते । तेष्वेव हि विरागो स्य नैर्मल्यं समुदाहृतम्

viṣayeṣvati saṃrāgo mānaso mala ucyate | teṣveva hi virāgo sya nairmalyaṃ samudāhṛtam

حسی لذتوں اور موضوعات سے حد سے زیادہ لگاؤ کو دل کی میل کہا گیا ہے؛ اور انہی چیزوں سے بےرغبتی (وَیراغ) کو پاکیزگی قرار دیا گیا ہے۔
