अतीतं वर्तमानं च स्मरामि च सृजाम्यहम् । तैर्विना चाहमेकस्तु मूकोऽधो जडवत्सदा
atītaṃ vartamānaṃ ca smarāmi ca sṛjāmyaham | tairvinā cāhamekastu mūko'dho jaḍavatsadā
میں ماضی اور حال کو یاد رکھتا ہوں اور سَرشٹی کو بھی رچتا ہوں؛ مگر اُن (ویدوں) کے بغیر میں اکیلا ہمیشہ گونگا، پست اور جڑ کی مانند بے حس ہو جاتا ہوں۔
