پھر راکشسوں کا سردار بڑی مشکل سے ہوش میں آیا؛ کمبھکرن کے وध پر دل شکستہ ہو کر، حواس پراگندہ، بے قرار ہو کر آہ و زاری کرنے لگا۔
"Your brother Kumbhakarna showed his might for a short time. But by virtue of Rama's energy and arrows, his mountainlike body was reduced to a trunk of dreadful appearance. Bleeding excessively, he was like a mass submerged in an ocean of blood. like a tree caught in forest fire he was blocking the gate of Lanka in ugly form with a head, nose and ears chopped off."
When one rejects righteous counsel and persists in adharma, the mind itself becomes unstable; inner disorder mirrors moral disorder.
After fainting, Rāvaṇa slowly recovers consciousness and begins to mourn Kumbhakarṇa.
A negative exemplum: lack of self-mastery; the verse shows how grief overwhelms one who has not grounded himself in dharma.
