Scene: A family prepares for a child’s cūḍākaraṇa but respectfully postpones; priests advise waiting until Utthāna. Instead, they light lamps and offer simple worship, symbolizing substitution of restraint for celebration.
Dharma includes proper timing: certain auspicious rites are deferred to preserve ritual fitness aligned with sacred seasons.
The teaching occurs within the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra māhātmya that frames seasonal observances.
Avoid major yajñas and postpone saṃskāras such as cūḍākaraṇa during the Lord’s śayana period.
