bhartṛyajña uvāca | japacchidraṃ tapaśchidraṃ yacchidraṃ yajñakarmaṇi | sarvaṃ bhavati niśchidraṃ yasya cecchaṃti brāhmaṇāḥ
Bhartṛyajña
Listener: Brāhmaṇas in the episode
Scene: Bhartṛyajña addresses the assembly, enumerating japa/tapas/yajña defects and declaring their removal through brāhmaṇa approval; brāhmaṇas appear as dignified ‘kṣitidevatāḥ’.
Ritual integrity is upheld through rightful authority and communal sanction; dharma is repaired by proper guidance and approval.
The verse emphasizes ritual principle rather than naming a particular tīrtha, within the Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s sacred-place discourse.
It states that defects in japa, tapas, and yajña can be rendered ‘niśchidra’ (faultless) when rightly endorsed/rectified by brāhmaṇas.
