mama saṃdarśanaṃ prāpya na mṛtyurjāyate kvacit | na vṛthā darśanaṃ caitattasmātprārthaya sādaram
Śaṅkara (Śiva)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and the Naimiṣāraṇya sages (implied)
Scene: Śiva speaks a promise: having obtained his darśana, death does not arise; he invites the devotee to ask a boon with reverence.
Darśana of the Lord is intrinsically transformative; divine grace turns fear of death into a call for reverent, purposeful prayer.
The verse belongs to a tīrtha-glorification setting, but the specific site is not named in this line.
A general instruction is given: approach the deity with sādara-prārthanā (reverent petition) after darśana.
