सूत उवाच । साधु पृष्टं कुलपते चरित्रं नर्मदाश्रितम् । चित्रं पवित्रं दोषघ्नं श्रुतमुक्तं च सत्तम

sūta uvāca | sādhu pṛṣṭaṃ kulapate caritraṃ narmadāśritam | citraṃ pavitraṃ doṣaghnaṃ śrutamuktaṃ ca sattama

สูตะกล่าวว่า “โอ้ท่านผู้เป็นประมุขแห่งวงศ์ตระกูล ท่านถามได้ดีแล้วถึงเรื่องราวอันเกี่ยวเนื่องกับนรมทา เรื่องนี้น่าอัศจรรย์ ชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ และทำลายมลทินทั้งปวง สมควรแก่การสดับและการประกาศ โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่สัตบุรุษ”
