Inquiry into the Unity of Śiva and Śakti
Para–Apara Ontology
caṃdro na khalu bhātyeṣa yathā caṃdrikayā vinā | na bhāti vidyamāno 'pi tathā śaktyā vinā śivaḥ

It teaches that Śiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) is eternally real, yet His glory and activity become manifest through Śakti; realizing their inseparable unity is key to understanding creation, grace, and liberation in Shaiva philosophy.
Linga worship honors Śiva as the transcendent reality, while rituals and iconography also acknowledge Śakti as the power by which Śiva is experienced; devotion becomes complete when the devotee sees the Linga as Śiva inseparable from His Śakti.
Meditate on the inseparability of Śiva-Śakti while chanting the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and perform worship with bhakti—offering water, bilva, and bhasma/tripundra as reminders of Śiva’s presence and Śakti’s transforming power.
