Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva

Sthala Purana: Doctrinal-ritual bridge: Pañcabrahman (Sadyojāta, Vāmadeva, Aghora, Tatpuruṣa, Īśāna) and their ṣaḍaṅgas are worshipped with āvaraṇa-pūjā; this is characteristic of Āgamic/Mantra-mārga liturgy rather than a single shrine legend.

Significance: Worship of Pañcabrahman and āvaraṇas is treated as a complete liturgical ‘map’ of Śiva-tattva; it is said to refine the paśu for reception of Śiva’s anugraha (grace).

Type: stotra

Role: teaching

Offering: naivedya

FAQs

It emphasizes that Śiva-worship is both inner and outer: honoring the Pañcabrahman-related limbs and the āvaraṇas trains the devotee in ordered, reverent approach to Pati (Śiva), while the pure milk-based offering symbolizes sattva, devotion, and consecration of nourishment to the Lord.

The verse is practical liturgy for Saguna worship—approaching Śiva through the Linga with structured pūjā, including auxiliary aṅgas and surrounding ritual stations (āvaraṇas), culminating in naivedya as an act of loving service (upacāra) to the manifest Lord.

Ritually, offer a milk-cooked caru sweetened with jaggery and ghee as naivedya after worshipping the Pañcabrahman aṅgas and āvaraṇas; meditatively, maintain a disciplined sequence of reverence—placing the mind around Śiva as the “center” just as the āvaraṇas surround the deity in pūjā.
