darśāṣṭakāsu bhūtāyāṃ śrāddhikaṃ pratigṛhya ca | pratipadyapi pūrṇāyāṃ gajoṣṭrābhyāṃ kṛtāṃtare

Translation

தர்ஷா, அஷ்டகா திதிகளில், பூதா (அசுப) நாளில், ஸ்ராத்த தானத்தை ஏற்ற பின், மேலும் பௌர்ணமிக்குப் பிந்தைய பிரதிபதையில்—யானை, ஒட்டகத்தால் இடையூறு ஏற்பட்டால்—அது அனಧ್ಯாய காலம்; வேதப் படிப்பை நிறுத்த வேண்டும்.
