यावद्वेदमधीते च चरन्वेदव्रतानि च । ब्रह्मचारी भवेत्तावदूर्ध्वं स्नातो गृही भवेत्

yāvadvedamadhīte ca caranvedavratāni ca | brahmacārī bhavettāvadūrdhvaṃ snāto gṛhī bhavet

வேதத்தைப் பயின்றும் வேதவிரதங்களை அனுஷ்டித்தும் இருக்கும் வரை பிரம்மச்சாரியாக இருக்க வேண்டும். அதன் பின் சமாவர்த்தன ஸ்நானம் செய்து இல்லறத்துக்குள் (கிருஹஸ்தாஷ்ரமம்) செல்ல வேண்டும்.
