FAQs

It preserves the authoritative paramparā (lineage) by listing revered transmitters; in Shaiva practice, Linga-pūjā and mantra are upheld as effective when grounded in an unbroken tradition of teachers and seers.

Indirectly: by emphasizing remembered names in a sacred lineage, it points to Shiva as Pati—the timeless source of revealed knowledge—while the sages function as channels through which that Shiva-tattva is articulated for bound souls (paśu) seeking release from pāśa.

No single rite is described; the focus is on the custodians of Shaiva teaching, implying the disciplined transmission of Pāśupata-oriented sādhanā and Linga-pūjā procedures through recognized teachers.
