Maitreya Upanishad 4 — Verse 4

mānāvamānahīno ’smi nirguṇo ’smi śivo ’smy aham | dvaitādvaitavihīno ’smi dvandvahīno ’smi so ’smy aham ||4||

I am devoid of honor and dishonor; I am without attributes; I am Śiva. I am devoid of duality and non-duality; I am free from pairs of opposites; I am That.

Ātman–Brahman identity; nirguṇatva; dvandvātīta (transcendence of opposites)Mahavakya: Closest in purport to ‘अहं ब्रह्मास्मि’ (Aham brahmāsmi) and ‘तत् त्वम् असि’ (Tat tvam asi): first-person realization ‘so ’smy aham’ expresses identity with ‘That’.YajurKṛṣṇa Yajurveda (often transmitted with Maitrāyaṇī tradition; text also circulates independently in later recensions) ShakhaChandas: Anuṣṭubh-śloka (classical śloka meter; post-Vedic style)
