क्रोधागारप्रवेशः — Entry into the Chamber of Wrath
Kaikeyī’s Protest
ततश्चित्राणि माल्यानि दिव्यान्याभरणानि च।।।।अपविद्धानि कैकेय्या तानि भूमिं प्रपेदिरे।
tataś citrāṇi mālyāni divyāny ābharaṇāni ca | apaviddhāni kaikeyyā tāni bhūmiṃ prapedire ||
Затем Кайкейи отбросила пёстрые гирлянды и дивные украшения; и они упали на землю.
Thereafter Kaikeyi flung away her multi-coloured garlands along with her costly ornaments on to the ground.
External symbols (ornaments) can be used theatrically; dharma emphasizes inner truth over performative displays meant to compel others.
Kaikeyī heightens her protest by discarding garlands and ornaments, signaling displeasure and demanding attention.
The verse highlights calculated display rather than virtue—contrasting appearance with the ethical weight of forthcoming demands.
