Alguns devotos, totalmente dedicados à Śiva-bhakti, praticam o svādhyāya (autoestudo dos ensinamentos sagrados). Outros recitam stotras (hinos) e palavras de auspiciosidade. E outros ainda realizam japa segundo o método correto, conforme prescrito pelas Escrituras.

Type: stotra
The verse affirms that Śiva-bhakti is expressed through multiple orthodox disciplines—svādhyāya, stotra, and vidhivat japa—showing that liberation-oriented devotion is both heartfelt and methodical, aligning inner intent with scriptural practice.
These practices commonly accompany Saguna worship of Śiva—especially Linga-pūjā—where stotras and auspicious invocations sanctify the rite, and mantra-japa (often the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) internalizes the presence of Śiva as Pati within the devotee.
It recommends disciplined mantra-japa performed vidhivat (with proper purity, intention, and count), supported by svādhyāya and stotra recitation—practices often paired in Śaiva tradition with rudrākṣa, bhasma (tripuṇḍra), and steady contemplation of Śiva.
