सुवर्णं पूर्वं निकष्य पश्चाद्वर्णिकां निकषयेत् ॥ कZ_०२.१३.१७ ॥

Transliteration

suvarṇaṃ pūrvaṃ nikaṣya paścād varṇikāṃ nikaṣayet

Translation

ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੋਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਸੌਟੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਸੋ; ਫਿਰ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਲਈ ਰੰਗ-ਮਿਆਰ (ਵਰਣਿਕਾ) ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਸੋ।
