योध्यापयेदेकदेशं श्रुतेरंगान्यथापि वा । वृत्त्यर्थं स उपाध्यायो विद्वद्भिः परिगीयते

အသက်မွေးဝမ်းကျောင်းအတွက် သြရုတိ၏ အစိတ်အပိုင်းတစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်းသာ သို့မဟုတ် ဝေဒ၏ အင်္ဂ (ဝေဒာင်္ဂ) များကို သင်ကြားပေးသူကို ပညာရှင်တို့က ဥပာဓျာယ (upādhyāya) ဟု ချီးကျူးကြသည်။
