Skanda
Tirtha: Tripathagā Gaṅgā
Type: river
Listener: Agastya (Maitrāvaruṇa)
Scene: Skanda addresses Agastya (Maitrāvaruṇa), inviting him to listen to Gaṅgā’s sin-destroying greatness exactly as spoken by the Lord.
Listening (śravaṇa) to tīrtha-māhātmya is itself dharmic: it orients the mind toward purification and pilgrimage faith.
Gaṅgā, praised as Tripathagāminī, central to Kāśī’s tīrtha identity.
A listening/recitation context is implied—hear the māhātmya as taught by authoritative tradition.
