ऊषरे वापि तं सस्यं तुषाणां कण्डनं कृतम् । कुलाचारसमोपेतांस्तस्माच्छ्राद्धे नियोजयेत्

Transliteration

ūṣare vāpi taṃ sasyaṃ tuṣāṇāṃ kaṇḍanaṃ kṛtam | kulācārasamopetāṃstasmācchrāddhe niyojayet

Translation

Seperti tanaman padi yang tumbuh di tanah tandus hanyalah menumbuk sekam tanpa isi, demikianlah juga upacara menjadi hampa tanpa ukuran yang benar. Maka, untuk Śrāddha hendaklah dilantik mereka yang berpegang pada adat dan tata laku mulia keturunan mereka.
