Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 66

एवमुक्त्वाथ ते विप्रास्तीर्थयात्रां ततो ययुः । सोऽपि तत्रैव चौरस्तु स्थितो जपपरायणः

evamuktvātha te viprāstīrthayātrāṃ tato yayuḥ | so'pi tatraiva caurastu sthito japaparāyaṇaḥ

Setelah berkata demikian, para brāhmaṇa itu pun berangkat menunaikan ziarah ke tīrtha yang suci. Namun si pencuri tetap tinggal di situ, sepenuhnya tekun dalam japa mantra.
