Perkahwinan Daiva ialah apabila pengantin perempuan diserahkan kepada ṛtvik (pendeta) yang memimpin yajña; zuriat daripadanya melindungi empat belas keturunan. Perkahwinan Ārṣa ialah apabila sepasang lembu diterima daripada pengantin lelaki; zuriat daripadanya menyucikan enam keturunan.
