Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 15

ददतामक्षयं सर्वं यमहास्ये न संशयः । अमावास्यां जितक्रोधो यस्तु पूजयते द्विजान्

dadatāmakṣayaṃ sarvaṃ yamahāsye na saṃśayaḥ | amāvāsyāṃ jitakrodho yastu pūjayate dvijān

Bagi orang yang bersedekah, segala pahala menjadi tidak susut walau di ambang Yama—tiada syak. Pada hari Amāvasyā, sesiapa menewaskan amarah lalu memuliakan dan memuja para dvija (brāhmaṇa), memperoleh buah yang tidak pernah luput.
