Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 10
क्षयरोग्यभवच्चन्द्रो दक्षस्यायं प्रजापतेः । स च शापप्रभावेण निस्तेजाः शर्वरीपतिः
kṣayarogyabhavaccandro dakṣasyāyaṃ prajāpateḥ | sa ca śāpaprabhāveṇa nistejāḥ śarvarīpatiḥ
Akibat sumpah Dakṣa, Sang Candra—keturunan Prajāpati itu—ditimpa penyakit susut (kṣaya-roga). Dengan kuasa sumpah itu, penguasa malam pun kehilangan seri cahayanya.
