ततः स्वभर्तुर्वचनाच्छबरी प्रस्थिता तदा । पप्रच्छ नारीं दृष्ट्वाग्रे दत्त्वाग्रे कमले शुभे
tataḥ svabharturvacanācchabarī prasthitā tadā | papraccha nārīṃ dṛṣṭvāgre dattvāgre kamale śubhe
Kemudian, menurut kata suaminya, Śabarī pun berangkat. Melihat seorang wanita di hadapan, dia terlebih dahulu mempersembahkan bunga teratai yang mulia, lalu bertanya kepadanya.
