Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 23

ऋचमेकां जपन्विप्रस्तथा पर्वणि यो नृप । अनृचोपोष्य गायत्रीं जपेद्वै वेदमातरम्

ṛcamekāṃ japanviprastathā parvaṇi yo nṛpa | anṛcopoṣya gāyatrīṃ japedvai vedamātaram

Wahai Raja, pada hari parvan yang suci (hari pertemuan bulan), seorang brāhmaṇa yang mengulang walau satu ṛc (bait Weda) pun menjadi diberkati. Dan sesiapa yang tidak mampu melafazkan ṛc, hendaklah berpuasa lalu benar-benar menjapa Gāyatrī, yang dimuliakan sebagai Ibu segala Weda.
