śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | ikṣvākuprabhavo rājā naptā śuddhodanasya ca | cāṇakyo nāma rājarṣirbubhuje pṛthivīmimām
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya bersabda: “Ada seorang raja dari keturunan Ikṣvāku, cucu kepada Śuddhodana. Raja-ṛṣi bernama Cāṇakya itulah yang memerintah bumi ini.”
