Cosmic Event: Sojourn in Rudra-sthāna (Rudra-loka) for ‘thousands of yugas’—a long post-mortem fruition of merit/bhakti.
It highlights that by meritorious approach to Rudra one may attain Rudra’s exalted realm and experience vast enjoyments, yet in Shaiva Siddhanta such bhoga remains within the sphere of fruition—true liberation comes only through Shiva’s grace that cuts the bonds (pāśa).
Rudra-sthāna points to Saguna Shiva’s divine domain accessible through devotion and worship; Linga-upasana is a primary Shaiva means to gain Shiva’s favor, leading first to elevated states (like Rudra-loka) and ultimately to release when devotion matures into grace-bestowing realization.
The verse implies sustained praise/japa of Shiva—practically expressed as Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra and Rudrāksha as supportive Shaiva disciplines—aimed at gaining Rudra’s grace beyond mere enjoyment.
