अयोध्याकाण्डे षट्त्रिंशः सर्गः
Daśaratha’s orders for Rama’s escort; Kaikeyi’s fear; the Asamañjasa precedent
तदलं देवि रामस्य श्रिया विहतया त्वया।लोकतोऽपि हि ते रक्ष्यः परिवादः शुभानने।।।।
tad alaṃ devi rāmasya śriyā vihatayā tvayā | lokato 'pi hi te rakṣyaḥ parivādaḥ śubhānane ||
Cukuplah, wahai Permaisuri, jangan lagi merintangi kemakmuran Śrī Rāma. Wahai yang berwajah elok, engkau juga wajib melindungi dirimu daripada cela dan nista dunia.
O Devi, there is no use obstructing Rama's prosperity. O one with an auspicious countenance, save yourself from the censure of the world.
Dharma includes accountability before society: wrongful acts invite rightful public censure, so one should restrain harmful actions and uphold fairness.
The speaker urges Kaikeyī to stop obstructing Rāma and warns that her actions will bring lasting public reproach.
