पुराणोपक्रमे प्रश्नः सृष्टिः संक्षेपतः पुरा । योगाख्यानं ततः प्रोक्तं कल्पाख्यानं ततः परम् ॥ ५ ॥
purāṇopakrame praśnaḥ sṛṣṭiḥ saṃkṣepataḥ purā | yogākhyānaṃ tataḥ proktaṃ kalpākhyānaṃ tataḥ param || 5 ||
पुराणाच्या आरंभीच प्रश्न मांडला जातो; नंतर प्राचीन सृष्टीचे संक्षेपाने वर्णन केले जाते. त्यानंतर योगाचे आख्यान सांगितले जाते आणि मग पुढे कल्पाचे कथन येते.
