महादेव उवाच । भवन्तः पशवः सर्वे भवन्तु सहिताः इति । अहं पतिर् वो भवतां ततो मोक्षम् अवाप्स्यथ । तथेति देवास् तं प्राहुस् ततः पशुपतिर् भवत ॥ ३३.२७ ॥
mahādeva uvāca | bhavantaḥ paśavaḥ sarve bhavantu sahitā iti | ahaṃ patir vo bhavatāṃ tato mokṣam avāpsyatha | tatheti devās taṃ prāhus tataḥ paśupatir bhavata || 33.27 ||
മഹാദേവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു— “നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും പശുക്കൾ (ബന്ധിതജീവികൾ) ആയി ഒരുമിച്ചു ഇരിക്കുവിൻ. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പതി (സ്വാമി) ആകും; പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ മോക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കും.” ദേവന്മാർ “തഥാസ്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോൾ മുതൽ അദ്ദേഹം പശുപതി ആയി പ്രസിദ്ധനായി.
