इति निश्चित्य मनसा वणिग्भावं हृदि स्थिरम् ॥ कृत्वा सार्थमुपामन्त्र्य निर्गतः पूर्वमण्डलम्

iti niścitya manasā vaṇigbhāvaṃ hṛdi sthiram || kṛtvā sārtham upāmantrya nirgataḥ pūrvamaṇḍalam

ഇങ്ങനെ മനസ്സിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ച്, ഹൃദയത്തിൽ വ്യാപാരിയാകാനുള്ള ദൃഢസങ്കൽപ്പം ഉറപ്പാക്കി, ഒരു സാർഥം (കാരവാൻ) ഒരുക്കി, എല്ലാവരോടും വിടപറഞ്ഞ് കിഴക്കൻ പ്രദേശത്തേക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
