तत्र क्रीत्वा सुपण्यानि उत्तरापथगानि च ॥ यातायातं ततः कृत्वा लाभालाभविचक्षणः

tatra krītvā supaṇyāni uttarāpathagāni ca || yātāyātaṃ tataḥ kṛtvā lābhālābhavicakṣaṇaḥ

അവിടെ അവൻ ഉത്തമമായ വ്യാപാരവസ്തുക്കളും ഉത്തരാപഥം (വടക്കൻ വ്യാപാരപാത) സംബന്ധിച്ച ചരക്കുകളും വാങ്ങി; പിന്നെ വരവ്-പോക്ക് യാത്രകൾ നടത്തി, ലാഭനഷ്ടം വിവേകത്തോടെ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു.
