स्कांदं पुराणमेतच्च कुमारेण पुरोद्धृतम् । यः शृणोति सतां मध्ये नरः पापात्प्रमुच्यते

skāṃdaṃ purāṇametacca kumāreṇa puroddhṛtam | yaḥ śṛṇoti satāṃ madhye naraḥ pāpātpramucyate

Translation

ഈ സ്കാന്ദപുരാണം ദിവ്യകുമാരൻ ആദ്യം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. സജ്ജനസഭയിൽ ഇത് ശ്രവിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ പാപത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വിമുക്തനാകുന്നു.
