देवतायतनैर्दिव्यैर्ध्वजमालासुशोभितैः । वेदाध्ययननिर्घोषैर्मङ्गलाद्यैर्विनादितम्

devatāyatanairdivyairdhvajamālāsuśobhitaiḥ | vedādhyayananirghoṣairmaṅgalādyairvināditam

ആ നഗരം ദേവതകളുടെ ദിവ്യ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളാൽ ശോഭിച്ചു; ധ്വജ‑പതാകകളുടെ നിരകളാൽ മനോഹരമായി അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. വേദപാരായണഘോഷവും മംഗളകർമ്മങ്ങളുടെ ശുഭനാദവും എല്ലാടവും മുഴങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
