ब्रह्मघ्नश्च सुरापी च स्तेयी च गुरुतल्पगः । नर्मदाचरितं शृण्वंस्तामब्दं योऽभिषेवते

brahmaghnaśca surāpī ca steyī ca gurutalpagaḥ | narmadācaritaṃ śṛṇvaṃstāmabdaṃ yo'bhiṣevate

ബ്രാഹ്മണഘാതകൻ, സുരാപാനി, കള്ളൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഗുരുശയ്യാ-അപരാധിയുമാകട്ടെ—നർമദാ-ചരിതം ശ്രവിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ആ വ്രതം ഒരു വർഷം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നവൻ—
