देवानां वचनं श्रुत्वा गौतमो वेदवित्तमः । तथेति कृत्वा शक्रस्य वरं दातुं प्रचक्रमे
devānāṃ vacanaṃ śrutvā gautamo vedavittamaḥ | tatheti kṛtvā śakrasya varaṃ dātuṃ pracakrame
ദേവന്മാരുടെ വചനം കേട്ട്, വേദവിദ്യയിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ഗൗതമൻ ‘തഥാസ്തു’ എന്നു സമ്മതിച്ച് ശക്രനു വരം നൽകാൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
