अतीते तु पुरा कल्पे यथेयं वर्ततेऽनघ । अस्यान्त्यस्य च कल्पस्य व्यवस्थां कथय प्रभो । एवमुक्तः सभामध्ये मार्कण्डो वाक्यमब्रवीत्
atīte tu purā kalpe yatheyaṃ vartate'nagha | asyāntyasya ca kalpasya vyavasthāṃ kathaya prabho | evamuktaḥ sabhāmadhye mārkaṇḍo vākyamabravīt
ഹേ നിർമലനേ! പുരാതനമായി കഴിഞ്ഞ കല്പത്തിൽ ഇത് എങ്ങിനെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവോ, ഇപ്പോൾ എങ്ങിനെയുണ്ടോ, അതുപോലെ ഈ അന്ത്യകല്പത്തിന്റെ വിധിയും ക്രമവും പറയുക, പ്രഭോ. ഇങ്ങനെ സഭാമദ്ധ്യേ അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ മാർകണ്ഡേയൻ ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
