कद्धिष्ण्यासु वृधसानो अग्ने कद्वाताय प्रतवसे शुभंये । परिज्मने नासत्याय क्षे ब्रवः कदग्ने रुद्राय नृघ्ने ॥
kád dhiṣṇyā́su vṛdhasānáḥ agne kád vātā́ya prá-tavase śubhaṃyé | pári-jmane nā́satyāya kṣé brávaḥ kád agne rudrā́ya nṛ-ghné ||
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, പവിത്രാസനങ്ങളിൽ വർദ്ധിച്ചു വരുന്നവനേ, നീ ഏതു വാക്ക് ഉച്ചരിക്കും? ഉപകാരിയായും മുന്നോട്ടുതള്ളുന്നവനുമായ വാത (വായു)നോട് നീ എന്ത് പറയും? ദൂരഗാമികളായ നാസത്യന്മാരോട്—ഞങ്ങളുടെ വാസസ്ഥലത്തിനായി നീ എന്ത് പ്രസ്താവിക്കും? ഹേ അഗ്നേ, ശത്രുഘ്നനായ രുദ്രനോട് നീ എന്ത് പറയും?
