Ravana’s Shakti Javelin and Lakshmana’s Wounding

सौमित्रिंसाविनिर्भिद्यप्रविष्टाधरणीतलम् ।तांकराभ्यांपरामृश्यरामःशक्तिंभयावहाम् ।।।।बभञ्जसमरेक्रुद्धोबलवान्विचकर्ष च ।

saumitriṃ sā vinirbhidya praviṣṭā dharaṇītalam |

tāṃ karābhyāṃ parāmṛśya rāmaḥ śaktiṃ bhayāvahām |

babhañja samare kruddho balavān vicakarṣa ca ||

ആ ശക്തി സൗമിത്രിയെ (ലക്ഷ്മണനെ) തുളച്ച് ഭൂമിതലത്തിൽ കുത്തിനിന്നു. അപ്പോൾ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ക്രുദ്ധനും ബലവാനുമായ രാമൻ ഭയാനകമായ ആ ആയുധം ഇരുകൈകളാൽ പിടിച്ച് വലിച്ചെടുത്തു, പൊട്ടിച്ചു തകർത്തു.
